Abducted 65 years ago, Osam Jan Reunited within 8 hours

We posted Osam Jan’s case on 12th August 2025. Here is how her story goes.

This woman’s name is Osam Jan Bibi.
She says, “I am from Mardan. I was only 14 years old when I was abducted and sold.”

Her father had a land dispute with someone, and out of enmity, that man had her kidnapped and sold.

Osam Jan is now 75 years old. Her eldest son has already retired from government service. You can imagine what she may have gone through over all these decades. She often cries when she remembers her family.

Here are the details that Osam Jan still remembers, with the hope that—like previous cases—you will help reunite her with her family.

  • Her father’s name: Sultan
  • Her mother’s name: Mash Alhawa (this is how it sounded in her dialect)
  • She had two brothers: Shah Nawaz and Badshah Nawaz
  • She had an elder sister named Hasni
  • Caste/tribe: Nishat Khail / Nishan Khail
  • Her father Sultan worked at a sugar mill in the city
  • She remembers the names of two village elders: Firdal Khan and Muqaddar Khan
  • Her maternal cousins owned a bakery
  • She does not remember the name of her village in Mardan, but recalls there was a water channel (a small canal or stream) running through it

We appealed to all friends from Mardan to help this heartbroken mother reunite with her family.
Victimized by cruelty and injustice, Osam Jan Bibi says:
“Son, before I die, I wish to see my family just once.”

All the details matched.

She belongs to Mohalla Kocheel, Nishan Khail Kaly, Nishan Banda, Shagai. She was born in Dir.

Her father passed away in 1998, and her mother has also passed away. Both of her brothers and two of her sisters have also left this world. Two sisters are still alive, and now even the third generation has grown up.

After 65 years, she will finally be reunited with her family, Insha’Allah.

When her sisters came to know, they became extremely eager to meet their long-lost sister. One of them, a heart patient, was so overcome with emotion.

Currently, Osam Jan Bibi lives in Naushero Feroze, Sindh.

She has not yet been told about the deaths of her brothers and parents. She keeps asking again and again: “Tell me about my brothers—how are they?”

We had to take Osam Jan all the way from Sindh to her home town of Mardan. Watch our journey, the reception and what happened when she met her surviving sisters. (Caution: Some scenes are stressful as one sister fainted)
