We got this case from a relative of Asif, a person whom we reunited after 32 years with his parents. (Click here to watch and read the wonderful story of Asif).
This child was about four or five years old when he left home and got lost.
He says his name is Zain, his father’s name is Kashif, and his mother’s name is Musarrat. He remembers the names of two sisters — Zainab and Fajr — but does not remember the names of his brothers.
Zain says that he is from Lahore. In childhood, he went out towards the canal from home, and from there, he does not know where he ended up.
The people who currently have Zain say that he has been with them for about a year and a half, and before that, he lived with other people.
Those he was with before made Zain take care of animals; he ran away from there and went to live with someone else.
We posted a request on our facebook page to help us locate Zain’s parents. Click here to read the original post
Within five hours, I got an audio message from a person, breathlessly, he told me this is his son. Another audio, he was crying.
Here is what I wrote (Original post here)
Alhamdulillah, Zain’s parents have been found.
Someone sent me Zain’s father’s number, and I sent him a video of Zain. After watching the video, he sent a voice message — perhaps running quickly towards home, his breath heavy — saying, “Sir, this is my Zain. Please tell me where he is, we’re coming.”
In another voice message, he was crying, explaining that they had gone to visit Zain’s maternal grandmother and had gone to a hotel for a meal when Zain got lost there.
Zain’s mother is constantly crying, and calls keep coming in from her, pleading, “Please reunite me with my Zain quickly.”
Alhamdulillah, through all of your efforts, Zain’s family has been found.
Zain’s father also sent this video wherein he explains what he and his wife did over the last three years to find Zain. He had to sell his business and relocate to Lahore, live in a slum, just to devote full time to find his son. Watch it here
The kind gentleman who had rescued Zain and had been caring for him for the last two months had stipulated that I come all the way from Karachi to Sheikhupura (1200 kilometers) to collect Zain. I, alongwith my brother Ismail went to Lahore and picked Zain’s parents and siblings. From there we went to Sheikupura.
And finally after three long years, Zain is reunited with his parents and siblings. Watch the emotional reunion, his story as Zain tells of the years of suffering and our reaction. His parents had some choice words for the government departments who did not attend to their case befittingly.
